Q1.
What makes MyAlloys different from mobile alloy wheel refurbishers ?
A1. Mobile refurbishers carry out cosmetic repairs which means they only repair the damaged area and are laying new products over the top of old products. MyAlloys can carry out cosmetic repairs but they prefer to offer a longer lasting service by stripping the whole wheel and priming the entire area with a powder coat, which is highly durable and will not peel.
Q2.
How long will the repair take ?
A2. Most standard alloys will be repaired within 2-3 days, unless a cosmetic repair is preferred which can be carried out in a day.
Q3.
Are there secure facilities for keeping the vehicle stored overnight ?
A3.
Yes, the workshop is secure and fully insured. We never leave cars outside
overnight, even if the customer requests this.
Q4.
How much is the cost ?
A4. For a fully stripped and powder coated standard finish alloy the cost is from £55.00 plus VAT, for up to 18" wheels. PLEASE NOTE - there are a variety of different finishes and we prefer to see the alloys and offer a free written estimate.
Q5.
Is there anything I need to bring with the car ?
A5.
Yes, items such as the locking socket and centre cap keys provided with
the car, otherwise the repair work cannot be carried out.
Q6.
Will I get a guarantee on the work carried out ?
A6.
A one year guarantee offered with powder coated painted alloy. Unfortunately,
no guarantee/warranty is offered on a diamond turned refurbishment.
Q7.
My tyres are losing air and I've been told this could be due to corrosion on the wheel. Is this correct and if the wheel is refurbished will this correct the problem ?
A7. Yes, this can possibly be the problem and nine times out of ten the problem will be solved, but there is no guarantee that it will.
Q8.
What is the difference between Standard and Split Rim Alloy wheels
A8. Split rim alloys show a circle of bolts around the rim and the construction comprises two or three parts. Standard aloys are solid throughout.
